WLS AM has 12,000 fans on facebook! HAHA.
WDRV has 33,000 likes on facebook.
WTMX has 80,000 fans on facebook.
WSCR only has 68,000 fans there.
WGN only has 81,000 fans.
And then ESPN 1000 has 288,888 fans.
This is a pretty large gap.
When you investigate further, it's the biggest brands in town with the best content getting the most engagement on facebook. Their engagement leads to rapid organic audience growth. It's all based on the fb edgerank algorithm.
Run a ranker on social media and you'll see most of these radio companies have no clue how to do social media.
The more they crow about their "digital strategies" the less they actually know.
Direct your disbelief at the "geniuses" running Entercom, Salem, Alpha, Cumulus, and iHeartradio who claim to be so social media savvy and focused.
Follow the bread crumbs and you'll also start to notice the ratings fraud that is radio ratings.
If these stations are growing their audiences like WLIT supposedly did from a 3.? to 8.? ... where's their audience growth on social?
WLIT only has 75,537 fans on facebook, the biggest platform with their target female demo at work!
