Cubs + WSCR = Good Grote But Bad ZZ

I finally listened to a Cubs game on WSCR 670 this season and OMG the terrible Zack Zaidman is an unwelcome addition to the broadcast - fingernails on a chalkboard - as he was on Bears 780 - bring back Mark Grote!
Who made this stupid move?!

Mitch Rosen is in charge. I also prefer Grote.

ZZ is only good as the Bears' equivalent of Baghdad Bob. Every year from Bourbonnais:

"Well, the team has a fresh approach, the Packers are clearly in decline, the Vikings have no offense and the Lions are just Stafford and 45 warm bodies so this team has a shot at the playoffs!"

Actually I wish they woul2d let Pat Hughes go. Dry as a bone and so pc. Also, what's with the vacation in the middle of every game? Is this common in the industry?
Why not just simulcast the tv side with radio?

To each his/her own. I LIKE Pat Hughes' "dry" sense of humor. It was a skill he honed over the years as "straight man" to the inimitable Ron Santo, and he continues it with Ron the Second.

Since he's the star announcer with a very favorable contract, he has the right to take a "lunch break" mid-game. I imagine other announcers of his caliber get that in their contracts too.
