No reason to come to Milwaukee to look at tower lights, I guess.
When 105.7 was dropped, I thought "w h a a a t ?"
Well, the sports stations have lousy ratings and yet advertisers.
(below is about LA, but mention of ESPN 1000's co-owned...)

Does Karmazin has PASSION for the product (which he owns) vs an employee who shows up and takes orders.
(I LOVED my job, and was surrounded by lackies. Retired, I just shrug my shoulders, I guess. I could NEVER run the place, but I was a good employee.)
Radio has KILLED formats, and it's not only teens. I probably have 4-5 radios in each room. I know people in their 50's with NO radios in the house, satellite in the car, etc. WHO will replace them?
You do not get an app to hear the beloved 8 minute stop-set.
Once these people in the 50's hit 60, er, 55, they are undesirable, as they say.
Me? I still like Top40, at my advanced age, and yet, I'm not the "average listener."
SPORTS? Highly caffeinated hosts at 5am, giving out a phone number, never taking one call per show and knowing WXXXX-AM/FM has the rights to the games, tells me all the coaches are great, the team is trying and I should go to the stadium and pay $8 for a hot dog, $12 for a beer and watch them lose again! Blah-blah-blah-blah.
I don't envy any of these people. What do you do? How do you gain market share? It's not 1965, 1980 or 2010 anymore, AND what will "AM 1250" be in 5 or 10 years? Or 670, or ....
Those are my opinions. I feel sorry for those jobs lost. These are people. They showed up for work every morning, lousy sleep, show prep, watching games, etc.
Oh well, Christmas is coming. I Heart will not disappoint!
And, give the 15 vice presidents a raise! Job well done!
