WSBC has open slots. Brokered radio is not what it was in the past. They can always shift brokered clients there. They will lose the sliver of Michigan coverage and the Western IL and Eastern IA fringe signal, but go 24 hours. I doubt there are a lot of listeners in those areas as most of their clients brokering are targeting Chicago metro.
Reality is, playing music makes them no money and is one step closer to bankruptcy or shutting off the signal. This offers them the opportunity to sell out their time slots and max out their rate table.
