Another interesting thing I wanted to post before, at the end of last year, but, forgot to do was about 1550.
They recieved a CP to run WCSJ AM 1550 from a two tower site, west of Joliet, with a daytime power of 1,500 watts. This was approved on Nov. 30th, 2018.
During Critical Hours(2 hours after sunrise/2 hours before sunset), they will stay at 250 watts from the current Morris site. Night power stays the same at 6 watts from the Morris site.
My guess is maybe if they build this they will have a new format and try to move the translator a bit to the north and west? Possibly on another frequency?
In this day and age I can't see them building a new daytime site for an AM station unless they only want to use it to feed an FM translator.
They(which ever company it's listed as) own WSPY AM 1480, which has not had a real tower site in some 15 or 20 years now. It is still running 125 watts from a temporary tower in Geneva, with FCC approval.
Maybe they finally shut off 1480 and use this AM and FM translator as a replacement for it?
I'm just speculating of course. It's been a while since I posted a long, rambling post here, so there it was. Lucky You
