However, the NY comparison is different as Z100 & WKTU are sister stations (both owned by iHeart) whereas B96 (Entercom) and Kiss FM (iHeart) here are direct competitors.
Radio is a "What Have You Done For Me Lately" business. The higher-ups don't care about a station's past ratings success from 10, 20, or 30 years ago. It's about right now. I agree with Jeremy that B96 won't change formats in the near-future. However, if B96's ratings continue to be where they are now or at worse go further down, why wouldn't the Entercom executives be tempted to pull the plug and flip the station to something else if they're that desperate. That being said, 104.3 Jams is more likely to flip formats if Entercom is really commited to save B96's ratings.
