I agree - I'm sure they love it. They can be as mediocre as they want to be and still own the format. Or, God forbid, they be as creative as they want to be.
In the case of the Newsweb sales, it seems like such a disappointment whenever a suburban station loses it's connection to it's community. 92.5, 92.7, 94.3, and 104.7 haven't had that connection for years, and it's obvious they won't have it again. I am happy to have WERV, WFXF, WSSR, and WZSR nearby - they do a great job serving the suburbs. Their overall presentation is a bit more laid back and I find it more enjoyable lately than what's coming out of the city. Not to mention, it's great to hear a lot of great air talent who were once on Chicago stations.
If 92.7 was not picked up by a religious broadcaster, maybe Alpha Media?
