When we began lacking Oldies, I turned to 60s Vibrations (60s On 6)
I liked having options for 90s, 2000s (Pop2K) and Modern AC (The Pulse)
I enjoyed Starlite (The Blend) for itís unique mix of AC.
Radio Disney in Stereo (Now itís the only place other than an online to listen)
Moviní Easy for Gold AC
There was even a time when I had both a Sirius and a XM Radio.
I always liked it simply for the options. If something was missing, I could usually go there.
My problem now is there is not much good new music being released anymore. Makes Hits 1 dull, The Blend is duller than it was, The Pulse is not as good, AltNation, etc.
If I wind up near the Sirius radio, itís almost always PopRocks (Gold Modern AC), Pop2K and 90s on 9. Formats that either never made it to FM, failed on FM, or were not as good on FM. Specifics (Dance, Classic Country, 2000s Active Rock, 90s Alternative, 80s Alternative, etc) are also optional if I need them.
Reception is another story. Itís not as good as it once was. XM always had repeaters. The one here made the XM MyFi I used work really well around town. They took many them out in 2009, rendering it useless for live listening outside of itís dock. Sirius had a unique satellite fleet that didnít need as many repeaters. I could stick an antenna outside facing flat at the sky and get a good signal. Now I have to play around with a 90į SW angle which the trees interfere with. Cars are a different story.
