In regards to the Mexican and Spanish-speaking half of that 20%, WOJO owns the presets. Regional Mexican is a mass appeal Mexican Spanish format. Itís not limited to targeting a certain age group. Along with itís heritage, this is where WOJOís success originates. WLEY is the other half of that success. The music on WLEY is also slightly different.
WVIV is Spanish CHR. Theyíre after non only 18-34 Spanish-speaking Mexicans, but also Puerto Ricans, and other young Latinos in the market.
WPPN is Spanish AC. 25-54 Spanish-speaking Adults. Mostly Mexican. They also run Play-By-Play Soccer in Spanish.
WRTO is Spanish Sports. Like WKRS, ESPN Deportes itís very niche.
WLIT HD-2 also pulls in reasonable numbers for a translator signal, that said 97.5 is a good translator signal. Like WOJO and WLEY, the format is Regional Mexican.
18-34 Hispanics of any decent are also likely listening to WBBM, WKSC and other Pop and Urban signals. English speaking Hispanic females in their 30s are gravitating to WBMX. Iíve been seeing it with my own eyes (Literally Iíve came across more 30 something Hispanic females blasting WBMX in their car than I ever could have imagined. They like what they are hearing)
