Chicago Magazine, August 2018, pages 108 - 117
If you can get a hold of this magazine, or check it out at your local library, they feature a very nice article on the origins of House Music. Great stories, names, history, and interviews.
One highlight from the magazine article: 1981 -- WBMX-FM hires the original Hot Mix 5, including future hit makers Farley "Funkin" Keith (later known as Farley Jackmaster Funk) and Ralphi Roasrio to bring warehouse-style mixing into Chicago's living rooms every Saturday night.
Please note that the WBMX-FM being referenced in the article is of course the real and original WBMX, not the current "so-called" version of WBMX on a different frequency.
