It's a great tribute site! I still miss the station, I know we've got so many more options these days, but, that station kicked a**!
Where I live on the southwest side/SW burbs(Oak Lawn/Alsip/Crestwood general area), the Arlington Heights stick was the dominent one, weak, but, usable in the house. At times the Morris stick would pop in and cause some problems.
I had the old Sony stereo with a long wire antenna, I had to adjust the antenna from time to time(which I draped over my window blinds lol) to get the best signal. I thought I was the only geek that would do that, until I went to a party in the Will county part of Orland Park. They had the same stereo as me and had the same antenna and would do the same thing as me.
It was a bit tougher down there because Morris and Arl. Hts. "duked" it out a lot more in that area, but, we made it work.
I can't imagine doing anything like that today. If we listen to the radio now, it's on our phone thru an app, bluetooth to a speaker. Man, how times change....
Sorry I just bored everyone to tears
