I thought the problem at the time was that Digity, when purchasing all of the stations from NextMedia, which included properties in Aurora, Joliet, Waukegan, Kenosha, and Crystal Lake, would be over the Chicago FCC allowed legal limit of frequencies, and therefore, decided to pass on the Crystal Lake located stations, so they were spun off? When NextMedia owned all of them, even though they were over the limit, the cap didn't exist when they acquired all of them, so were eventually grandfathered in under the new cap. I'm assuming Alpha Media would have been in the same boat. They couldn't buy them either. 97
