My main criticism of 104.3 Jams is their very thin playlist. Even some of their fans have noticed this and wish they wouldn't repeat the same 5-10 songs so often. They have access to B96's gold library, which is over 2,000 songs (probably larger). The is still debate whether the classic hip hop format will work long-time, but with their recent ratings bump and Chicago being a major market, there is potential.
Going back on topic, there was dead air on WCKG's online stream yesterday night. I'm not talking about their AM station, which is daytime-only. WCKG airs heavy metal weekday nights on their online stream and 102.3 FM. However, Rebel Radio isn't listed on WCKG's main page. Maybe it was my internet connection acting up.
BTW, I underestimated 102.3 the Beat's song count. It's closer to 500 songs total, not counting the mixes and the 70s/80s Golden Grooves (R&B).
