When they relaunched WILV to WSHE, they changed the music format to what sounded more like a Classic Modern AC format. Very Rock-leaning. In true 100.3 fashion, the music evolved back to a more Mainstream AC sound.
"The Point" branding didn't last very long. But the WPNT call letters and the phone number 591-7646 (POIN) went on until Bonneville flipped it to AC in October '97. Between '94 and '97 it was being called anything from "100.3, Chicago's FM100" "FM100" "100.3 WPNT" and "Chicago's 100.3" with Fred Winston mornings. Those years were probably some of the fondest memories I have of the frequency.
