Posted by Peter Stroud Remember this is a new board and has varying views on how to move forward on quite a few issues. I have been watching and ingesting the valid points on this forum and have sympathy with much of what is being said. This Board is finding its feet, agreeing remits and areas of responsibility, etc. As 4 of us run our own businesses it can sometimes be difficult, all 4 of us are all used to making decisions, and running with them. This is not the case here, as 'major' decisions need to be discussed and agreed which can sometimes elongate the process. I think we are finding this a little frustrating to varying degrees. On the communication flow, this has also proved to be a little more difficult than before. When I was Chairman before, I ran the club, to all intents and purposes, and made decisions and ran with them. I would go onto this forum and tell everyone, often before I told the rest of the Board. This isnt the way anymore, and rightly so. We are sharing the financial burden equally and others are doing a disproportionate amount of the work in getting us back into the borough, namely Paul and Stuart and it would not be the correct thing for me to act the way I used to. Both Stuart and Paul have had very constructive meetings with the council and have another couple next week. Hopefully we can put this one to bed, and set out a start date shortly afterwards. The players have now been paid up-to-date, but we have made a few errors, some have been overpaid, some underpaid, but that will be sorted out quickly. Not going to be talking about the playing front, etc, as not sure if whether that would have a positive or negative effect. We desperately need to get a result on Saturday, worth approx £5000, and potential for more, as we win £3000 plus gate monies for next round. I have got to get back to work now, but will be updating you periodically. If anyone wants to ask a direct question please do so, and I will answer best as I can
