I also agree, but does Gary not have a "day job"?
Not sure how the moderation procedure works, but assume that the moderator would need to have constant access to the messageboard to enable him to delete offending material within seconds of it appearing on the board. Sounds like a very time consuming job (i.e. 24/7) to me!
: I agree.
: Gary is not the sort of person who would
: censor for the sake of it, merely because he
: did not agree with someone else's viewpoint.
: I would have every confidence in him acting
: in an appropriate manner as far as this Board
: is concerned.

: Any board needs moderating, especially when
: logging in is not required. I have no problem
: with Gary doing this, and I am completely
: happy to take his decision as final, even
: though I might not always share his view.
: Do those who are not anonymous think the
: same? Is there anyone better suited?

: : Me too, Gary. Will the last to leave please
: turm the lights out. Over and out.

: I will no longer delete any messages from
: this
: board, whatever they contain. I will leave it
: down to Webbo to administer his own board.
: Only problem with that is that I am pretty
: sure that Webbo is "absent" for
: days on end, so there is the chance that
: libellous/inflammatory messages will remain
: in the public domain for significant periods,
: leaving Webbo open to legal action.
: I can no longer see any other way forward
: than for Webbo to make this a registered
: board. As usual, the few spoil it for the
: majority.
: How anyone can justify the view that
: anonymous postings should be allowed is
: simply beyond my comprehension.
: Finally, I will no longer post to this board
: while any coward can post an
: obscene/libellous message about a named
: individual without recourse.
: Enjoy yourselves - I have had enough.
: : Peter, what ISP providers can you not
: trace?
