Posted by Renee Ellis Cons: Little acceptance from AA people or family. But that doesn't matter to me, I'm so FREE that I could care less.

I know how you feel. I used to feel the same way. Then I started educating myself. The first book I read was 'No Lye' by Tulani Kinard and then I make FREQUENT visits to www.nappturality.com (it draws me there at least once a day - like an addiction). I love the energy and support from that group. There are over 20,000 users on that group that are natural or who are transitioning. There are lots of pros: you begin to have an appreciation for who you are, there is a freedom that comes knowing that you are even accepting yourself, the care for our hair is very easy and like my husband said last night, I don't have bad hairdays, there is always something that can be done to make it look good. No more walking around talking about how I need a perm. Water is now my hair's friend with a little moisturizer. I can tell that I am laughing, loving, and just plain out more fun and having more fun now.
