I suggest that you keep getting braids til its time for you to leave for college or desired length when you are ready to cut wash your hair and cut it while its still wet you should be able to see which parts of yur hari are the permed and which is the new growth this process is cutting out the perm , this way you avoid alwasys putting heat to yur hair and damging the new growth this is what i did i havent permed my hair in a year i cut my perm out last summer and now i just twist it and it comes out rather cute
