Posted by Dave Hunter on October 22, 2005, 5:45 am I am in the process of attempting to construct a demo switch for my telephone museum. I will be constructing it from Strower components is I can find them, as historically, the first automatic exchange on P.E.I. was a British Strowger step by step system manufactured by Automatic Telephone and Electrical of Liverpool, England. The 1200 line switch was delivered late in 1949 and placed into service in Summerside on February 9, 1950. What I am looking for are prints or schematic diagrams of an AE or Strowger type switch, or plans for a suitable demo switch (hopefully using Strowger components) for the museum. Actually, practically any SxS PAX or PABX manual would be of assistance. The children visiting the museum have no idea of how to use a dial phone. Weren't phones always touch-tone. Weren't they always wireless? Yes, I could use a modern PBX or PABX, but it wouldn't hold the interest of the old electromechanical machines, where they can see... and hear the calls going through. All I will eventually need is the ability to call several phones within the museum, from the demo switch. Anyone have anything which would help? Dave
