Posted by Larry Sneed --Previous Message-- Bob, Every switch, regardless of "class" has a CLLI code (common language location identifier), think of it as a unique Social Security number. These are pulished and somebody in your company at the HQs level should have a copy. The CLLI is usually cross referenced to the english name of the switch it is asociated with. Maybe there is a web site posting for these now? One esoteric use of the CLLI was when you had two switches of the same class, such as two class 2 tandems with a common trunk group between them such as a high usage 2-way group. The tandem with the lowest alphabetic first character would hunt the trunks from 1 to X and the other Tandem would hunt the trunks in reverse order to alleviate Glare problems.CLLI codes are 11 character/number strings. Also, if you know the number of the Tandem in question the supervisor or techs will usually tell uou the CLLI of the switch or the particular tandem it is by address and town. Sincerely, Larry Sneed
