Just got drafted as an "exempt" (i.e., "management"
employee to be a "Frames Attendant" for AT&T's strike contingency planning for 2009.
I visited the on-site, hands-on classroom training yesterday in a Chicago central office and was a little overwhelmed with the frames/MDF/COSMIC numbering schemes, not to mention the incomprehensible COMET order system.
Perhaps there's someone out there who might have some helpful links for a normally desk bound female UNIX admin who will be forced into becoming a rolling-ladder-climbing, tool-belt-wearing, safety-glasses-mandatory know-nothing Frames Attendant if a strike happens in April?
Running wire is not my thing, although I was extremely interested in all of the diesel and battery backup systems...
