Hi Nancy, I actually cureled the dolls hair with a curling iron...

I bought one of those extension cords with a dimmer in it. I set the dimmer to about 3/4. This insures the curling iron doesn't get too hot to melt the curls. I hold the curl for about 30 seconds. Lightly pull it out of the iron so that the curl is in place and then immdiately blow on it to cool it down. When it's cool I let go of the curl. I used this technique because I wanted a large flippy curl. But a boil perm would certainly give it a tighter body curl.
