We make as few or as many as we want. With China, we had to order a minimum so it was a lot of capital up front. With resin, we can start with short runs and fill our orders asap.
If given the choice between a lower cost but making costumers wait 3 years or paying a higher cost and making the dolls the same year they are introduced, then we are willing to spend the extra money.
And yes, it will make the dolls more like art dolls. I think there are enough overpriced "play" plastic dolls on the market already. Doll making is supposed to be about art, not toy making and mass marketing. So, we are very happy to get back to our roots and back to the art of making dolls.
