Dearest Meggie:
Do you know of any thing in writting that points to Actiq as being bad for your teeth ? I have spent $10,000 dollars so far & that was to fix only four teeth!!!
Help if you can Netdale3 Calif
P.S. I was on the 1200's for two yrs.
: I have been on Actiq for 2 years now...
: I have traumatic brain injury and
: extrememe chronic pain. I am on both
: 400 & 600 mcg dosages. When I was
: first put on it, I was suicidal from
: the pain. (Serious suicidal, not just
: in a manner of speaking) So, I REALLY
: needed HELP. HOWEVER- If I had it to
: do over again... I would do A N Y T H
: I N G else to **Avoid going on
: Actiq** if you are not a terminal
: cancer patient. I say this because it
: has- despite GOOD dental care,
: regular brushing & flossing,
: regular dental appointments &
: cleanings- DESTROYED my teeth. They
: are badly badly decayed, painful,
: with black areas and are breaking. I
: will not smile anymore. I went to the
: detist last week, and she said she
: has not seen a decay pattern like
: this before & it is not from poor
: care. I need a full mouth of implants
: (More pain!)((HUGE expense))
: There are other drugs... try
: anything else... don't give up a
: mouth full of teeth. It is your self
: esteem, it is what people think of
: you... people decide things about you
: just by looking at your teeth. **I
: hope you will think about my advice**
: Warm regards, and gentle hugs,

: : Hi Raych,
: I have been taking Actiq off and on
: for the past 3 years. It helps me to
: cope, and it also helps to take it
: before be to reduce discomfort before
: falling asleep. It has helped me to
: get off other opiums such as
: morphine. I hope it helps you.
: Another thing you might want to ask
: your doctor about is Neurontin. It is
: not as immediate as Actiq or
: Percasets might be, but it seems to
: help calm down weird outburst of
: pain. I wish you the best of luck in
: this ongoing struggle.

: Has anyone tried Actiq yet? It's the
: "lollipop" form of the
: Fentanyl patch. my pain doc is
: switching to it from the daily 20mg
: of percocet that I have been taking
: for the last 4 years. I'm somewhat
: nervous about the switch. looking
: for any info anyone can offer, on
: side effects, etc... don't want the
: medscape definition, I already have
: that. Thanks!
