A little background...I played football and wrestled in high school (20 years ago), powerlifted and competed in bodybuilding 10 years ago. I have had bad knees since, but not so bad that I can't workout or do anything athletic. About a year ago, I was running for a bus from work and woke up the next day with a pain on the inside of my left knee along the joint line. It was swollen and has become swollen maybe a couple of times in the last year after playing a little basketball. Lately, in the same area of the inner knee, I get sharp shooting pains that many times come in clusters, and have actually made my lower body at the hips wince and move a little when the pain comes. They seem to feel like I'm getting a shock in my knee, and it will hurt to the touch along the joint line if I have done any strenuous exercise. More often than not, it's when I'm just sitting with my knees bent, although I do get them when I'm standing or laying down as well. The pains come and go without any warning. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?
