Posted by Lesley Have you tried Tiger Balm - I find it helps a great deal and is a natural rememdy containing menthol. I too have an unstable pelvis and although I suffered dislocations during my pregnancy, I didn't get any pain with it until the birth itself and after my baby was born. I now wear a pelvic girdle and it helps a great deal. Speak to someone who knows what you can & can't put on your skin during pregnancy (ie an aromatherapist) - it may help. Good luck Lesley

Hi,
--Previous Message--
: Hi, I am 28 and now 12 weeks pregnant
: with our first child. I was
: diagnosed with hypermobile type EDS 4
: years ago, although my family doctor
: is now thinking I may actually have
: type 3 as local anisthethcs(sp?) do
: not work on me and never have.
: My problem is that I am experiencing
: a lot of lower back and pelvic girdle
: pain. This is possible harder on my
: husband than me as I am somewhat used
: to being in pain all the time. I
: have a couple of questions for all of
: you: 1) do you have any suggestions
: for controlling pain or inflammation
: while pregnant, and
: 2) I am going for a vaginal birth at
: my doctors suggestion because of poor
: scaring, does anyone have experience
: with vaginal delivery with an
: unstable hip, and EDS?
: Thanks for your help!!
