My 11 year old son was always dislocating his hip. He does it less frequently now. He has been taking tai chi classes and this has strengthened his hip. It still happens occasionally, but nothing like before.

: Hi everyone,
: I am new to this board but am so
: grateful to have found it. My
: daughter is 6 years old and was
: diagnosed with Type 3 Ehlers when she
: was 18 months old. I am a pediatric
: OT and she is seeing both a PT and an
: OT. Each time she goes through a
: growth spurt she disolocates every
: joint in her body almost daily.
: Right now we are in a dilemma, this
: week her hip has, what she says,
: popped out everyday causing pain and
: limited movement. But by the time we
: get to the orthopedist or after
: waiting 4 hours to see him she
: relocates it herself. Each time her
: x-rays are normal. The doctor can't
: believe that her hip can slid in and
: out so easily and not show some
: residual damage on the x-ray. Also
: after she relocates herself she
: bounces around like nothing ever
: happened. Has anyone else
: experienced this? Has anyone found
: any good treatment options for this?
: Finally has anyone ever tried an
: osteopathic options and if so were
: they successful. Thank you so much
: and any insight would be greatly
: appriecated.
