: Where do you live? I delivered my son
: 5 1/2 months ago by C-section. I
: was followed by my obs/gyne and had
: a consult from my EDS specialist.
: The reason They opted for a section
: because if I were to go into labour
: I could have ruptured my uterus and
: because my hip dislocates getting up
: in the stirr ups would be impossible
: without popping something out. If
: you have any questions please feel
: free to email me as I am also a R.N

: has
: experience with Ehlers Danlos. I
: asked my doctor for a referral but
: he said to forge ahead and worry
: about things as they come. I'm not
: too comfortable with that, but he
: said if I could find a name he would
: referr me. Any help would be

: My name is sue and i am 39 yrs. old. I reside in suffolk county, N.Y., have Ehlers Danlos though at the time of my daughters birth in 1988 I was not diagnosed at that time. At the time I had a C-section due to placenta prevea & hip dislocation problems. After many years of mis diagnosis they finally figured out that I had ehlers danlos, type unkown. I now have my daughter kimberly who was diagnosed at the age of 12, who is now pregnant. She is living in ocean county, n.j. with my mother. Now at 4 months pregnant she is having a hard time with finding a physcian who has knowledge and will accept her insurance. On thursday the 16th of april, I decided to bring my daughter to the clinic to hopefully see the doctor. Everything seemed to be going extremely well from the women at registration, the charge nurse, and the nurses in the office, then it all changed the very second the docotr walked in the room. She ranted how she felt that my daughter would be not be treated as a high risk, but a regular pregnancy and deal with it as that and nothing else. Obviously i am deprately seeking a doctor with bedside mannors and knowlegde of EDS would not hurt. would hapeen to know one in her area, or any suggestions on what my next step could be being she has not recieved the medical attention she needs.
