Hi...I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced sudden (no pain) bleeding of lower leg or arm resulting in large bruises or a series of smaller ones spordically. I'm now 54 and the first event was last August and have had 4 since...(the hospital obviously did not believe they happened quickly and a neigbor alerted me...and they obviously thought I was a hypochondriac as my diagnos was 'anxiety'and they refused any blood or other tests. Will it worsen as I age? My geneticist says there is only 1 other lady in 100 of us in Calgary doing this same thing in her feet. Noone seems to know why but my theory is (as he says all Type III Classical have low b.p. and mine goes very very low quite often) that maybe when it spikes up the faulty or 'stretchy' veins burst from internal b.p. pressure and weakened vein/capillary collagen. Some are quite large and appear on both lower back calves in the same spot...just now got one huge one on upper back of right arm. Am startng to worry as it's happening more often and noone can tell me 'why' or if it will get worse...(hi Veena if you read this!) Patty in Edmonton, Alberta
