: Hi there. I know you posted this
: message quit awile ago, but I'd like
: to share my experiences with you. My
: name is Brienna. I am a 28 year old
: woman with Classic EDS. I am also a
: mother of two. My sons are 3 yrs and
: 6 mths old. My pregnancy and birth
: experiences were fine. My EDS
: docotor recommended a wonderful
: OB/GYN. Her name is Dr. Carol
: Schneider, she practices out of the
: Women's Hospital in Winnipeg. She
: specializes in "high risk"
: pregnancies. For both of my
: pregnancies I had a cerclage put in
: as a precaution. A cerclage is where
: your cervix gets stitched up so the
: chances of miscarriage/ premature
: labour lessened. It is done around
: your 13-15th week of pregnancy is
: painless. Around 37-38 weeks it is
: removed. Both births were vaginal,
: and with luck I had no major
: complications. Nothing ruptured and
: I had no tearing. I know that
: everybody is different but I just
: wanted you to know that it can be
: done! One positive aspect of being
: pregnant and having EDS... NO
: STRETCHMARKS! No seriously, if you
: have any questions for I'd be more
: than happy to share any info I have.
: Good Luck To You.

: Where do you live? I delivered my
: son
: 5 1/2 months ago by C-section. I
: was followed by my obs/gyne and had
: a consult from my EDS specialist.
: The reason They opted for a section
: because if I were to go into labour
: I could have ruptured my uterus and
: because my hip dislocates getting up
: in the stirr ups would be impossible
: without popping something out. If
: you have any questions please feel
: free to email me as I am also a R.N

: Can anyone recommend an ob/gyn who
: has
: experience with Ehlers Danlos. I
: asked my doctor for a referral but
: he said to forge ahead and worry
: about things as they come. I'm not
: too comfortable with that, but he
: said if I could find a name he would
: referr me. Any help would be
: appreciated.
Unfortunately my husband and I have not taken that big step yet, I'm a bit of a chicken, but I do have another question and I apologize to those who think it is selfish but I just want to be prepared. My question is did your stomach go back to a somewhat normal shape. Because of the elasticity issue I was wondering if my stomach would stretch back at all.
