Posted by ontario resident on 10/31/2006, 9:59 am, in reply to "affected by air pressure changes" After thinking up some more keywords and doing some more reading, I was wondering if this may just be a manifestation of some Eustachian tube dysfunction in the ear (not opening properly when pressure needs to equalize). In my case, that may be due to allergies and explain why actifed plus helps somewhat (though it seems to worsen other symptoms). This may provide a simple explanation why I get dizzy when I stand up (instead of having to wonder about POTS). Is it at all likely that being hypermobile can predispose someone to having that sort of problem? Or if the hypermobility is due to a collagen issue, could that affect the nature of the Eustachian tube? I'm just looking for opinions from other people who might live like this. Or at least confirmation that there are others out there. --Previous Message--
Hello again,
: Hello there,
:
: I was wondering if any of you are
: affected by what seem to be air
: pressure changes (weather stuff). I
: experience things like feeling down,
: head feeling crushed, ears that
: won't unblock, and vision changes
: which ease up when the pressure
: seems to ease up. I may or may not
: be one of you...it will be quite a
: while before a rheumatologist will
: see me, but I would probably count
: as hypermobile (fingers can be be
: bent back, thumbs can be bent to
: arm, elbows bend backwards a bit,
: and palms can touch the floor) with
: some of the other associated issues.
:
: thanks in advance for any replies.
