I am looking for other people's opinion. My 12 year old daughter is having problems dislocating her right knee this year. Has happened twice. So now the orthopedic surgeon suggests surgery. (he took a sample of the fluid in her knee today, and said that if it is clear it is fine, but if there is blood then severe damage has been done) It was blood. I am not sure what to think. He says that the operation should prevent dislocations (get her through the next few years) until she stops growing. This has also become a "quality of life issue" because it limits her in her life. There are only so many accomadations that people can make, schools, camps etc. She is missing out on things. I have EDS, but have never had knee dislocations. I want to hear from people who have had the operation, how long it works, any problems, and also what if we do not have the operation. Thank you for any help.
