The Foundation Center is shown as a client of GrantSelect. How does the Foundation Center utilize the GrantSelect database? Does FC incorporate the info from GrantSelect into its' own FC Online?
I ask so that we may determine if it makes sense for our CC to subscribe to their database. Since the Foundation Center already does, will we just be wasting precious funds by duplicating resources?

Hello Marilynn,
Each of the Foundation Center libraries subscribe to GrantSelect primarily because it does have unique information on individual and government giving (beyond the foundation giving information which is largely duplicative of the information found in the Foundation Directory Online). You may want to contact GrantSelect directly to see if they can offer you trial access to the database to determine whether it would be worth your extra expense.
