  • Permanent passwords for remote training

Posted by Susan Neilson on 9/5/2007, 6:18 pm

I do some FDO training outside my library and really want to do much more. I know I can contact Kief for a password, but wouldn't it be easier to have some type of permanent password for CC supervisors? If there is some concern about misuse, it could be changed monthly or every six months. What do you all think? With more places having wireless, there is some expectation of being live....

      Hello,

You will be happy to know that we are working on making this system more automated and it should be ready by the time we launch the redesigned CCNet web site. Until then, requests can either be sent to me or to Lisa at ccmail@foundationcenter.org.

      Thanks!

      Kief

        Kief,
Is this for requesting remote password logons using personal laptops or for something else?

[I've only had about 18 cups of coffee from noon-6PM today so I'm a little sluggish ]

          Hi Shelly,

The new system will be in place in the redesigned CCNet (coming soon) but until then requests should be sent via e-mail to myself or to the CC Assistant, Lisa Drapkin, at ccmail@foundationcenter.org. This is for any off site training whether using your own laptop or a computer housed at the off site location. However, at this time it is only for the instructor's use and not for hands on training.

Thanks again and I hope this helps.

Count me in as another requestor for "remote access".

For those of us using our own laptops for remote programming, would it be technically feasible to use the IP address of our laptops?

I to would really like to have a password. I do off-site trainings once or twice a month and it would be great to actually be able to demonstrate FDO.

          Hello Susan,

This is a nice idea. I'll raise this with the folks here at the Foundation Center who are in charge of licensing, and hopefully get back to you some time soon.

          Thanks!
