- You can now Mark & Save in FDO
Posted by Jeff Imparato on 7/18/2007, 12:04 pm|
I'm not sure why someone didn't shout this from the Mountaintop, but we finally (after more than 10 years of asking) can Mark and Save records in the Foundation Directory Online. You can also e-mail from individual records. On behalf of the CC Supervisors nationwide, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!! Jeff Imparato

Glad you're glad Jeff. We too are thrilled with this enhancement. It was an issue of programming and more complicated than you might think! Anyhow, we are hopeful that with the latest enhancements more of your colleagues who still cling to FC Search will consider switching, since FDO is so much more current - and at the Professional level, just so much more flexible! Mark records... Does this mean we can print and email marked records as a group, as is currently possible with FC Search?

Hello Aleah, You can now mark records in a FDO search and then save them (in PDF format) or print them (again in PDF format) as a batch of records. A separate FDO enhancement allows you to e-mail individual records to yourself or others one at a time. You have to do this within a specific record however (look for the e-mail icon within the record you wish to send). Finally, a brand new enhancement allows users to export records into an Excel spreadsheet. Many of these recent enhancements are described in a recent CCMail message (http://ccnet.fdncenter.org/news/newsmessage147.html). Because of these recent enhancements, I would encourage you and our other CCs who have FC Search to re-examine Foundation Directory Online as their electronic database option. Those who wish to switch can do so by filling out the form on CCNet here (http://ccnet.fdncenter.org/bookstore/fdonline.html). Thanks and I hope this helps.
