- FDO "Update Central"
Posted by Shelly Weiner on 4/3/2007, 12:38 pm|
The email regarding the latest updates to FDO states "Log in to Foundation Directory Online now to view more information and visit Update Central ... create reports..." I logged in and I have spent the last 30 minutes looking for "UPDATE CENTRAL". Does anyone know where it is? I have clicked every link there is and I still can't find it... I've had my coffee this morning so that can't be the reason I can't find it Shelly

Hi Shelly, After you've logged into the Foundation Directory Online, look for the box on the left hand side of the screen labeled "FDO Update Alerts". A link to "Update Central" is located at the bottom of that box. Thanks and I hope this helps! Kief Schladweiler Coordinator of Cooperating Collections The Foundation Center

Thanks Kief... It must have been a "DUH" moment. Off track, whose gorgeous dog is that in the opening FDO page graphics? I just want to sit there all day and stare at it!

Hi Shelly, Glad to have been of help. As for the dogs, I'm not sure whose they are but I personally have received many comments on them from CC supervisors. A lot of dog lovers out there! Kief

- FDO for the other branch

I have received an answer before, but need to be refreshed as to why our other branch can't be a part of our subscription to FDO. What would be the additional charge for their access?

Hello Norma, Your subscription to Foundation Directory Online Professional and other core collection databases and titles that are included in your annual membership fee of $995 are for use in the one location that has been designated as a Cooperating Collection only. We tend to talk about this as "within the four walls of the building that houses the CC." Recently, however, the Foundation Center announced a special option for public libraries (with a significant discount on the subscription fee for those that host our CCs ) and that wish to have Foundation Directory Online Professional and/or Foundation Grants to Individuals Online available at their branch libraries. Information on this (including pricing) can be found here (http://ccnet.fdncenter.org/resources/FDOProfSystemwide.pdf). If you are interested please let us know. Cooperating Collections in academic libraries can acquire site-wide access to FDO but under a different pricing plan. Thanks, Kief Schladweiler Coordinator of Cooperating Collections The Foundation Center
