Three years later I am responding to your message. Check with your US Small Business Administration. In Iowa they put together a free resource booklet specifically for people starting a small business in Iowa. It is a great resource tool and there is a page of websites to refer people to when they ask for grants for starting a business. Perhaps your state has something similiar.
