Posted by susan My husband and I received results from our amnio indicating that our daughter has CES. It is present in all cells, although they haven't actually detected the marker. It isn't strong enough so they are now checking even lower on the chromosome. We met with the specialist yesterday. I had a level 2 ultrasound and they did not find anything at all our of the ordinary. Eyes are properly spaced, ears, no cleft pallet, perfect bone measurements, 2 kidneys, etc. We next had an echo cardiogram with 2 specials at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. Again - everything was formed perfectly and functioning as it should be. They won't even have to see us again until she is born! My question is about mental development. Considering everything I have written - weak markers, perfect ultrasound and echo cardiogram - what are the chances that she could have a normal rate of learning. (I am a special ed teacher and will be blessed no matter what!) I just want to be prepared and be the best mom and dad that we can be. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
