Capillary leak syndrome is when the capillaries are very permeable causing hypotension(low blood pressure), hypoalbuminemia(lack of albumin, not sure what that is) and edema(swelling). I know that hypotension is dangerous, that's basically what happens when you bleed to death. My guess is they try to treat in by repeated blood transfusions but the person would keep losing blood so it would be hard to keep up with it. Sort of like aplastic anemia, where they stop producing blood cells. I searched PubMed and couldn't find any report of any other kid with CES and capillary leak syndrome.
