Hi-Deborah. I have a 15mo old who also had a colostomy bag. The imporforate anus was his major problem. Dain was slow in sitting up as well. Once he was reconnected he was able to get tummy more and began sitting up shortly after. He hated being on his tummy, but we just pushed him a bit and he got over it. Neither my husband or myself carry the gene. I am scared as well for my son's future. As I am sure you know it is hard to find info on development. Dain is also in the school system and that helps a lot as well. They give me suggestions on ways to help him with gross motor skills, that I never would have thought of. He sees OT and PT and also has an early childhood educator that sees him 2x's a month. They have been a godsend to us.
