Hi Nico & Philip,
Just thought I'd drop a note and let folks know what I'm up to... Graduated from McGill last spring hoping to never set foot in an institute of higher learning again only to face four plus months of underemployment. Am now resorting to the last resort of the jobless... contemplating grad school. Considering doing something on immigration strategies for Nova Scotia since there is a palatable Masters in Atlantic Canadian Studies at a University near me. Only half joking about my motivation for returning, heh heh.
In all other respects, life is good, even wonderful- Fernando and I got a subsidized spot in a housing co-op, Silvio has a subsidized spot in day-care. All I need now is a bloody income. Depressing to consider that I could make more money through fellowships and scholarships than I can in the current labour market.
Also ran for school board. It was a valuable experience, in that I was a strong enough second not to have to hang my head in shame, and am now quite proficient at making cold calls and visits.
Acquired a cellular telephone (pauses to hang head in shame). For job purposes (laughs bitterly, cackles to self).
Anyway, I just thought I'd say hi to everybody, and see what others are up to.
