spool32.exe

everytime i boot my computer it hangs just before the log in username password etc for at least 5 mins..then finally when it gets going i get a message saying that spool32.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down...
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling my printer but the same thing over and over...
i use win98se by the way
can you help pleeeeeeeeeese?
does anyone have this file? would it be worth just replacing it?
