Multimedia Advanced Properties screen in Control Panel

I am using windows 98 and for some reason the multimedia advanced property window in the control panel is blank. I have uninstalled the multimedia inside add/remove programs windows set and then restarted the computer and then went back through and reinstalled it, but the advanced multimedia screen still remains empty. Do you have any ideas?
