I can no longer open my WinXP programs by double-clicking shortcuts on the desktop or in Start menu--they only open if I right-click them, click "run as", then uncheck the box "Protect my computer and data...", click OK. Concurrently, when I dbbl-click some shortcuts and program folders the display "Could not read session file: C:\(PATH).ht" and a "New Connection-Hyper Terminal" window opens. This display also happens with some Control Panel applications, where some also open OK, and some I must hold "shift" and right-click, then do the "run as" process described above. Are these related or separate problems? (I have a feeling I mistakenly configured that .ht extension.) What to do?
