Hello All:
It sounds like the people, Robinson / Robertson / Gabbard are my family too. My mother's maiden name is Robertson. Her father Al/Albert is the only son of Charlie & Mary/Polly (Gabbard) Robinson to use the last name Robertson. Papaw Al's four brothers used Robinson. My gr-grandma Polly is the daughter of Michael Jr. & Elizabeth (Cundiff) Gabbard. Charlie is the son of James R. & Margaret (Burgess) Robinson of Clay County, KY. Please feel free to e-mail me if you want to share family information.

: The one in wolverine, that's what it
: says on my grandfather's death
: certificate. I'm wanting to find
: somebody that can get a picture of
: cecil robitson's head stone. I'm in
: the army up here in Alaka right now,
: so it's hard to get to jackson for a
: photo. I'm trying to gigure out the
: correct spelling of robinson/robertson
: since his records show three different
: one's. I met his sister a month ago,
: and she said it's spelled robinson,
: yet other relations and records show
: robertson, yet again his death
: certificate and my fathers birth
: certificate says RobiTson. kind of
: confusion.

: Which Hays/Hayes Cemetery are you
: asking
: about? There are at least three in or
: near Jackson. The largest one is on
: Wolverine, there's another on Highway
: 15 North, and still another on
: Quicksand Road (now called the Snowden
: Cemetery).
:
: There are many Hayses buried in the
: Jackson Cemetery and other cemeteries
: throughout Breathitt County. The Hays
: family was one of the earlier families
: to settle in the county, and there are
: many places which hold their remains.
: Also, most of the early Robinsons I
: know about are buried in the Snowden
: Cemetery.

: has anybody been to hayes cemetary
: lately? Or related to Robinsons in
: this cemetary? I have grandparents
: there with his parents (Cecil, Mike
: & Vestia Robinson)
: Mike & Vestia Robinson is my
: Grandparents. Maxine Robinson they'er
: daughter was my mother one of my
: brothers middle name was cecil. He's
: dead so is my older brother raymond. I
: have one brother left. I've been to
: their graves. The correct name is
: Robertson. I have many records of
: them, marrage, death. No records of
: birth on Mike. His father's name was
: Ike.His mother was Jane Gabbard. Her
: family came from Germany. The original
: spelling for Gabbard was Gebhert.I'ts
: funny on Mike's death certificate,
: giving his last name as Jackson. every
: sensus I looked up he was always with
: a different family member. I also
: found out that there was an Indian
: family there at the time that's last
: name was Jackson. As I remember his
: skin was very dark. all his children
: was dark skined. Veste as my father
: called her died with T.B. as did some
: of her children. Cecil, Don, the
: youngest boy, they had a very young
: dauther died also of t.b. I never met
: Cecil. My dad had a picture of him at
: the hospitle where he died. It got
: lost with all other photos of my
: family. I also remember Uncle Ernist.
: he died of a heart attach.I will look
: to find the picture I took of the
: graves. Cecil's the only one with a
: head stone. I believe he was in the
: millatary. The Army. Eral another
: brother was past out on the railtrain
: in wolverine. Got his head cut off by
: the cowhook. Ernest was with him. said
: when he went to take a leek. He came
: back and found his brother's headless
: body lying on the tracks. Also Grandpa
: Robinson got his leg cut off by a
: train, he also was drunk pastout on
: the tracks also. I remember G-pa
: Robinson drank a lot. He died when I
: was 6 or 7 years old. He was also bald
: headed. He died from a fire in his
: house. Pastout drunk in front of his
: coal stove, the hot embers fell out of
: the stove. He's brother John gave
: info. on his death cert. By the way my
: maiden name is Fletcher my father was
: Harlan. I guess I've said enough for
: now. I will try and find the picture.
: It may take time for me. I've been
: sick for a while. I'll try to find it.
: I guess we're cousins. Patty Dyer
