Felix Turner of Fruitland Park, Florida, went to be with our Lord on August 3 2009. Felix was the son of Jerry Turner and Ada Lyons Turner. He was born on War Creek, Breathitt County, KY in 1922.
Felix was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W.II. He retired after 30 years of dedicated service from Michigan Seamless Tube Co. He married Cleo Brewer, the joy of his life in 1946.
After retiring, he split his time between Jackson, KY. and Fruitland Park FL. Felix and Cleo made Fruitland Park their permanent home in 1997 to be with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years Cleo, daughter Rita (William) Wagner of Citrus Springs, Fla; son Lester of Spring Hill FL; grandsons Jon Varjabedian of Orlando, Joe (Jennifer) Marsh of Fruitland Park,Tim Turner of Wisconsin, Mike Turner of Bradenton, Jeffery Wagner of Citrus Springs; great-grandchildren, Blake and Jocelin. Brother Goble Turner of Walled Lake MI. and sister Minnie Stidham of Michigan.
Felix was preceded in death by sister Garnett Turner, and brothers Bernette, Edward, Elmer, James E, Marvin and Roy
Graveside funeral servcies were Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 at Florida National Cemetery, with Chaplain Bob Whitworth officiating. Graveside military honors will be observed. Memorials may be directed to Salvation Army, 2105 W Main St., Leesburg FL., 34748.
The Turner family would like to express their gratitude to all the volunteers and the Lake County Sheriff's Department for their help, kindness and extraordinary effort in the search for Felix. Thank you!
