Murder, Ambrose and Earl Francis, 1933

Any info on this incident appreciated. Ambrose was serving papers on an accused thief, when he and his son, Earl, were both shot. Ambrose died 22 Oct 1933, Earl (b 30 Sep 1916) died 29 Oct 1933. Shortly after, Ambrose's family may have disbanded, as at least one of Ambrose's daughters was sent to Maine to live with relatives.
