I am also researching the Cornetts of Breathitt. There are many variations of the spelling I have a Kelly Cornett in my database, but the birthdate was abt. 1916- this Kelly passed away in Middletown, Butler, Ohio in 1973. This Kelly was the son of a Rev James Cornett, James was the son of Samuel, Samuel was the son of Hiram.
Samuel was not my direct line- but Hiram was.
Samuel was one of the first Cornettes to show up in Breathitt County, his brother Clark shows up on the census in 1870, then William in 1880. Look in Owsley County I believe Samuel and his line are also listed in Owsley County.
