I have a family tree that my maternal origins in Breathitt County. Blue Fugates, anyone? Isaac Fugate or Jacob Fugate? My mother used to sing songs, such as "Possum Up a 'Simmon Tree" and others as obscure that I have been able to loosely trace to Kentucky, and I am wondering if anyone knows anything of the Fugates and their possible history in the area.
