I suspect she may have been revering to Yerkes, area in Perry Co. This site has list of several cemeteries at or near Yerkes.
: My grandparents were from Breathitt
: County. My gr.grandmothers name was
: Alice Brewer. She married Wilburn
: Collins. Wilburn Collins worked in the
: coal mines according to the 1920
: census. Alice died in the fall or
: early winter of 1916, and we have
: always been told that she was buried
: at aplace called "Ear-Keys".
: That was how my grandmother pronounce
: it. But since she was only 6 months
: old and her Brother was only 2 yrs.old
: and their father remarried very soon
: after she died, they never talked about
: her. Does anyone know if this was a
: town or maybe a cemetary? It is not on
: any map of Kentucky so maybe the town
: is no longer there. I would love to
: find this place and maybe her grave.
: Thank for any help.
